Injections

Types of Injections:

  • Trigger Point Injections
  • Joint Injections

Benefits of Injections include:

  • Trigger point injections (TPI) are an option for treating pain in some patients. TPI is a procedure used to treat painful areas of muscle that contain trigger points, or knots of muscle that form when muscles do not relax. Many times, such knots can be felt under the skin.
  • Joint injections consist of a local anesthetic that is typically injected into the joint with the goal of determining immediate pain relief to confirm the sacroiliac joint as the source of the patient’s pain. This solution is used for a diagnostic sacroiliac joint injection.
